Jean Norberg has worked in all facets of property management during her twenty-six years in the industry, including over thirteen years in community association management. Jean holds both the CMCA® and AMS® designations from Community Association Institute and is working toward her Professional Community Association Manager® (PCAM®) certification. Jean lends her lifetime of experience to the team through high-level oversight as well as collaboration on individual properties.
As manager of condominium and homeowners associations, Jean assists with the daily operations of communities. Her expertise includes preparing and monitoring budgets, negotiating contracts, overseeing projects, ensuring homeowners are in compliance with governing documents, issuing violation notices as necessary, and processing a variety of requests from Boards of Directors and as the management agreements dictate.
Additionally, Jean has experience working with attorneys to resolve homeowner disputes, litigate construction defect issues, revise governing documents, work with lenders on loans for association projects, and collect past due assessment accounts. Jean has extensive experience in transitioning new and condominium conversion associations, educating boards, and high rise and historical building management. Previous positions include full-charge bookkeeper for residential property management and on-site apartment manager.
A native of the Pacific Northwest, Jean attended Washington State University in Pullman, Washington. In her free time, Jean enjoys spending time with her family motorcycling, camping, and vacationing in warm climates.
Jean’s responsibilities with EM&C include but are not limited to:
- Oversee daily operations of the association management team, working closely with each association manager to ensure quality performance
- Train and mentor the association management team
- Work with Managing Members to establish company policies and procedures
- Work with Director of Marketing & Client Services to establish new management partnerships with targeted associations
- Manage a small portfolio of associations
